Supporting women with improved seeds

Women play a vital role in Uganda's rural agricultural sector and contribute a higher than average share of crop labour in the country. They also make up more than half of Uganda's agricultural workforce, and a higher proportion of women than men work in farming—76% versus 62%. But they do not have access to same technology, financial services, education and market as men. If women in rural areas had access to the same technology, financial services, education, and market as men, they could increase agricultural production to feed over 75% of the people in their communities.

TWIN has supported women small holder farmers through modern farming and agriculture technologies and building their capacity to enable them have increased yields, reduced losses in the farm and improved breeds of animals. Different groups are engaged in different agricultural and farming practices and we base on what they do to build their capacity.
